What they wanted

Social Element approached us to design and build a new website that reflected their updated branding and evolved service offering. Following a pivot, several of their services had changed, leaving the old website no longer fit for purpose.

With upcoming events on the horizon, the team needed their new branding and messaging live as quickly as possible. To support this, we developed a new website “skin” that showcased the refreshed brand, while retaining the existing pages behind a temporary holding layer to preserve SEO during the transition.

What We Did

Discovery & Branding

During the discovery phase, we worked closely with the Social Element team to understand their new direction, clarify their evolving services, and define the goals for the website. With the companies upcoming events, we needed to develop the new website “skin” quite quickly, so we did this as part of the initial process to give the whole team an idea of design direction.

Wireframing

During the wireframing phase, we focused on creating a flexible, content structure that would allow Social Element’s visual identity to be the key focus. Imagery and animated GIFs played a key role in showcasing the brand’s personality and work, so we made sure to design layouts with generous spacing and clear visual hierarchy, ensuring there was room for all of the sites media to breathe while still supporting clear messaging.

Design Breakdown

When it came to the design, the work was led by the initial website skin and Social Element’s new branding. We worked collaboratively with the Social Element design team to translate this new visual identity in a defined digital experience.

Development Breakdown

The website was built on WordPress using custom Gutenberg blocks, giving the Social Element team full flexibility to update content and evolve the site as their services continue to grow. Video content plays a key role throughout the site, helping to bring the brand and its work to life. Subtle, considered scroll animations were also introduced to add engagement, enhancing the user experience without distracting from the messaging.

How did we make Social Element unique?

What sets the Social Element website apart is its use of video content and thoughtfully applied brand assets. Rather than relying solely on static imagery, the site brings the brand to life through motion and animation, creating a sense of energy and personality.

Ongoing Relationship

We still work with Social Element now on their SEO and also helping with small design tweaks and updates.
Creative Design created and built an exceptional website for us. They were very understanding of our detailed requirements and a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process, from concept to launch.

Chris Hammond – Hammond Drysuits

We had a fantastic experience working with Creative Brand Design. Briony Fairbairn and the team took all of our ideas on board and brought our website to life in ways we hadn’t even imagined. Briony kept in touch throughout the process, was incredibly friendly, and made everything run smoothly. We’re so impressed that we’re already returning to them for another website!

Kirsty Walton – Metroville Media

Excellent work, great design ideas and a professional approach.
